Upon your death,

If you have dependent children

  • Each dependent child will receive a monthly pension equal to 20% of your unreduced pension, instead of 10%, to a maximum of 80% shared equally among all dependent children.
  • Your beneficiary or estate (if you have not named a beneficiary) will receive the commuted value of your accrued pension.

Where can my survivors get information about what to do upon my death?

Information to assist your survivors is available under For survivors.

Why do some Plan members receive their pension statements before others?

Approximately 95,000 personalized pension statements are mailed each year. To help ensure quality customer service, the mailing period is spread over a few weeks. If you have not received your personalized pension statement by May 25, 2024, contact the Pension Centre.
